Les Grands Carmes welcomes the work by Ukranian photographer Serhii with the exhibition 'LGBTQ+ In Ukraine. Still Here. Hidden Lives'.

For more than a decade, Serhii has used photography to explore inner transformation, intimacy and the complex relationship between identity and visibility.

Still Here. Hidden Lives brings together 10 photographs that examine the spaces between what is visible and what remains private.

The works explore vulnerability, desire, isolation and resilience, tracing the quiet emotional landscapes of lives shaped by uncertainty and change.

The photographs do not seek to explain or define the people they portray. Instead, they offer fragments of experience — moments of closeness, distance, tenderness and solitude.

At a time when private lives can become increasingly fragile, these images reflect on the desire to remain present, to exist on one's own terms, and to find a space in which nothing needs to be explained.
